Heartbreaking News this morning. We are losing the Kemp’s Ridley Turtle. It is already the World’s Most Endangered Sea Turtle. Haley Rutger (Mote Marine Labs) and I went over the stats as they were coming in this morning. In the (5) counties effected by the Red Tide the count is at 215 since the Bloom began in Nov. 2017. FWC reports 725 Sea Turtles statewide have been found stranded/dead. Necropsy reports are beginning to come in and are available on the Mote Lab’s main page. I will post a few later. As a species Humans wreak an awful lot of havoc on our planet.
