City Hall operations moving to Community Center temporarily

 

 

The City of Venice emergency declaration will end Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 12:01 a.m. Accordingly, all non-essential personnel shall return to their respective normal duty assignments.

On Wednesday, Sept. 13, the Venice City Council will convene a public hearing at the Venice City Hall  Council Chambers, 401 W. Venice Ave., at 10:30 a.m., for consideration of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan Transmittal Letter. At that time, in light of the emergency declaration caused by Hurricane Irma, the Council will vote to continue the public hearing to a future date certain.

As electrical power has not yet been restored to City Hall, all other regular City Hall business will resume Wednesday at the Venice Community Center, 326 Nokomis Ave. S. In consideration of the logistics to temporarily relocate essential City devices to the Community Center, there may be a minor delay in the morning in beginning services to the public. City Hall employees should plan to operate business from the Community Center until the restoration of electrical power to City Hall is complete.
