Sarasota Mosquito website only indicates two areas were sprayed in the past week.  Should there be more, since West Nile has been detected in our area?

As many of you are aware of, a batch of mosquito’s were found in the Venice area that tested positive for West Nile Virus.  So, you would think there would be an uptick in spraying, yet there has not been.

I have not seen to much posted on social media from mosquito control, so I thought I would visit their site, under the advice of an employee with this division.  He told me that they spray all the time and the updates are on the web site.

AS you can see from the screen shot, within the past weeks only two areas have been sprayed.   There was an aerial spraying off Fruitville and they sprayed in the Venice Gardens area.   Both were posted on social media.

They did post that v8 would be sprayed, however that area is not noted on their web site (https://www.scgov.net/government/health-and-human-services/mosquito-management-services).

So, my question is, shouldn’t there be more spraying?  I know mosquito’s are going crazy in my neck of the woods…..
