Commissioners,

Good afternoon, we received a request asking for any updates on the Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH); Hurricane Evacuation Center.  Staff, including Emergency Services and Capital Projects continues to meet with the team from SMH on the development of the project.  We are scheduled to meet again on January 16th and we are expecting to receive a draft interlocal agreement for our review.  We are also planning a joint field inspection of the Mike Fasano Regional Shelter in Pasco County on January 30th.  The Fasano Shelter is the same kind of project that received state funding for similar purposes and our team is meeting with the Pasco team to discuss the project.  The team is also working with Rob Lewis and staff on a funding request for the state.  Additionally, we have another follow-up meeting scheduled with SMH on February 8th.  I will be providing an update to the Board on the Hurricane Irma AAR, which will include an update on the SMH Hurricane Evacuation Center, on January 15, 2019.

Please feel free to call me with you have any questions or would like further information.

Sincerely,

Richard A. Collins

Director
