Venice:  Why was I told the new recycling surcharge would be $1.94/mth, just to have the city bill me $8.42/mth?

Subject: RECYCLING SURCHARGE

BIHOA Members,

Attached is a new City Ordinance # 2019-39 shared with your HOA Board by Vice-Mayor Bob Daniels today. It explains and shows us that we are being charged an additional $8.42 due to current marco-economic conditions, there  has been a worldwide loss in demand for recyclable materials. While this is likely a temporary market condition, it has caused a rapid drop in prices for these materials and is affecting communities all around the world. Thus causing the new Recyling Surcharge. This was just approved at the City
Council meeting on November 27th.

We wanted to share this with you so you would have a better understanding of this Surcharge.

Thank you,

Your BIHOA Board

Below is the press release from the city, stating it would only be $1.94/mth
