Venice’s City Engineer states that the Woods contractor appears to be meeting all permitting conditions, despite the pungent smell

Remember the same department stated that the water coming from outfalls was not polluted and just rain water.   Then we found out they weren’t even testing the water, so they really did not know if what was or is flowing out of them……………  Francesco

Ed,

As a heads up, SWFMWD and Sarasota County Stormwater have received complaints regarding The Woods construction on Border Road.  Engineering Inspector Jeff Hackett has been monitoring the site on behalf of the City and the contractor appears to be meeting all permitting conditions.   Inspection is being done by SWFWMD and Sarasota County next week and Jeff will be meeting them on-site.   They have a very extensive filtration system for their dewatering (photos attached) and Jeff has tested their discharge waters to verify they are meeting NTS limits.  I will update you if they have any violations noted during the inspection.

Thanks!

Kathleen
