The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a death investigation.

Deputies were first alerted to a missing person early Monday morning just before 2:00 a.m. Na’im S. Hunter, DOB 10/19/84, of Tampa, reportedly went missing after jumping into a lake in the Camelot Lakes neighborhood in Sarasota.

Hunter’s photo and clothing description was released Monday to the media. Early Tuesday morning, members of the Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery Force (SURF Team) responded to Camelot Lakes where they conducted a search. Just before 9:00 a.m., deputies located a deceased male in the lake.

At this time, detectives have positively identified the decedent as Mr. Hunter. Next of kin has been notified.

The investigation is ongoing and as always, an official cause of death will be determined and released by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

There is nothing further to release at this time.
