Online registration open for Back to School Resource Fair

Registration is now open for the City of North Port’s annual Back to School Resource Fair.

Hosted by the Social Services Division, North Port families can register online to receive free backpacks and supplemental school supplies for school-enrolled children at the Back to School Resource Fair. All registrations must be received by July 1, 2017.

The Back to School Resource Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Morgan Family Community Center. This expo-like event will feature exhibitors with resources for families with school-age children.

Registration is available online and is open to any North Port family with students attending public school. Families without internet access are invited to register for the event by using computers at the Social Services Division’s office on the second floor of the Family Service Center, 6919 Outreach Way.

“This is the first time that we have offered online registration and we believe this will make it easier for more families to get involved,” said Social Services Manager Janet Carrillo. “The Back to School Resource Fair offers an opportunity to connect with resources available for you and your child. This is a great way to kick off the school year.”

The online registration app was developed in-house by the City’s Information Technology Division. The link to register can be found at www.cityofnorthport.com/B2SRF.
