Scheduled water outage/boil water advisory/road closure in Venice 2/11


There will be a scheduled water outage in the City of Venice on Monday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This outage is due to the repair of a potable water main, part of the East Gate Utility Relocation Project, Phase 1.


The area affected will be the East Gate subdivision, including:

·         1324 Cypress Ave.

·         700 to 1325 Laurel Ave.

·         700 to 1325 Groveland Ave.

·         700 to 1124 Myrtle Ave.

·         700 to 1234 Pineland Ave.

·         700 to 1334 Gulf Coast Blvd.

·         Entire roadways of Live Oak Street , Country Club Way and Home Park Road


The affected area will be required to boil water for consumption only (drinking, cooking) for 72 hours and until the boil water advisory has been rescinded, or use bottled water.


A Code Red notification was issued and individual residences notified. The advisory has also been posted on the City’s website,


In addition, the contractor for the water main replacement project will be closing the alleyway (service road) Feb. 11 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. This includes closing the alleyway north of Cypress Ave. up to the northwest corner. LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY will be able to access the roadway up to the northwest corner.
