Hey there,

Hope you all are doing good! I watched your piece on Peacock and the fines and I just wanted to bring up a few things:
1. I would love for you to point out that A LOT of the kids that play football for Venice (including my son) have in fact grown up playing football in Venice and they work extremely hard year round to earn a position on the team. They work out year round to condition their bodies, they know they have a responsibility as a student and athlete to conduct themselves in a respectful manner and work extremely hard to maintain good grades… many players in honors, IB, and duel enrollment. I am very proud of the hard work and dedication that my son and many others strive for. I think it is very important for the community to know this part of the equation as well!
2. The text message was from Peacock to one of his players not to the kid in NP
I am not arguing; by any means, that recruiting should not go on in any sport or activity I promise you that! Just simply as a parents point of view and knowing how teens talk, snapchat etc. that a bunch of text messages between students from different schools and 1 text initiated by a player to his coach turned into using Peacock as a scapegoat… Yes he should have avoided responding to that student and reported it but I believe that is why his fine/suspension was lower than many expected.
Please keep my name out of this; I truly respect what you do and appreciate that you “keep it real” for all of us in this community and just felt that another perspective is never a bad thing!
Thanks for reading my input
