The Scoop News (The Uncensored Report) Nets A Profit & I Am Looking For Local Sarasota County Charities To Donate The Net Revenues Too
Over the past nine years of operating the Scoop, it has evolved with the changing times.
Earlier this year I changed to more of a video report format, just to save me time and to avoid any harassment from the local MSM, regarding copy right issues. The way I am doing it now, keeps the hounds away and any questionable gray area falls under Fair Use rules. This has proven to be a method that most the fans enjoy, versus having two sentences and then routed to a page, where they may not be able read the article without paying a monthly fee.
With this change, my traffic has picked up and so has the amount of time that people are staying on the web site. With more traffic, there is more revenue generally speaking.
Right now I am running Adsense, which puts ads on my site, based upon your web surfing habits. Then there is Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers/zgbs/?&tag=thscne02-20&camp=222345&creative=494369&linkCode=ur1&adid=1JG8HN8MXVT9GF5937X5&). Whenever people want to shop Amazon, if they click one of my links, I get credit.
All of this has brought in an increase in revenue, which exceeds my hard operating expenses. The only reason I have the advertisements is to cover that hard cost of the site. Now for the good news.
I decided a long time ago that I would take any net revenues from The Scoop and put it back into Sarasota County, via donating to nonprofit organizations. This is the same commitment I had, when I ran for Mayor of Venice. I took the left over money and donated to Good Samaritan Health for the people that cannot afford medical services. When I say nonprofit, I don’t mean any company that has a nonprofit status with the state. For me to donate to a nonprofit, they must be able to:
- Validate that a good proportion of their donations are given back to the individuals that the organization was created to support. For me, a nonprofit has too been a company that is not out there and only giving 3% of the donations back into the programs that started the nonprofit.
- The nonprofit has to be a local Sarasota County 501c.
- Provide their Form 990, to show their nonprofit status and breaks down their numbers.
Last month the traffic to my web site, just missed the 350,000 mark and this month it is trending along the same line. With that in mind, I have some extra money to give out. If you are interested in putting y our name for this donation or future donations, please submit the information requested above to me via email at [email protected]. Put on the subject line, nonprofit consideration.
Thank you for your continued support and remember to shop Amazon through my web site or click any of the adsense advertisements.
Thank you,
Francesco Saverio Abbruzzino
