SCSO: The Fugitive Apprehension Unit & US Marshals took convicted felon & illegal immigrant Naum Vasquez into custody on Wednesday
Sarasota County (FL) Sheriff’s Office
A huge KUDOS to our Fugitive Apprehension Unit who took convicted felon and illegal immigrant (who’s been deported once before) Naum Vasquez into custody Wednesday morning! Vasquez was convicted of Trafficking in Cocaine in 1996 and served 3 years and 10 months in prison. Upon his release in 2000, he was deported to the Dominican Republic. On June 8, a federal indictment was issued for Vasquez for Illegal Re-Entry without Permission. In exactly three weeks time, our Fugitive Apprehension Unit working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force, tracked him down to a home in the 2400 block of Webber Street in Sarasota. At the time of his arrest, Vasquez was hiding in the attic and had a rifle in his bedroom. He was taken into our custody and since released to the US Marshal Service. WAY TO GO, TEAM!
